The Beauty of Nature: AyurYoga for the Season
Traditional Yoga with a Modern Flare
Arm yourself with natural tools for your toolbox. This is the time of year to expand and bloom. I am passionate about sharing how a traditional Integrative Yoga & Ayurveda Therapy Practice CAN help with transitioning from the cold and dark weather of Late Winter into the vibrant light of nourishment that the Spring Season brings forth. Both seasons are looked at through the lens of Ayurveda as Kapha ritu. It is the longest seasonal change in the Midwest.
Building an apothecary of therapeutic tools under the lens of yoga/yoga & Ayurveda therapy to have on hand helps to boost confidence for those moments when you crave it most.
We will start the class by setting an Intention (Sankalpa) to move through past limiting beliefs (Vikalpas).
Expect an active & energizing posture practice (asana) with mindful and skillful alignment cues and optional assists where needed.
This will be a full spectrum yoga class, incorporating asana (posture), pranayama (breathwork) mudra (hand seals/gestures) and kriyas (cleansing actions). Trataka gazing (candle) to help clear away the cobwebs of the Mind's and physical "eyes" so that the transition to "see" where you are going and to step forward into the next season with a sense of clarity. Yoga Nidra in Shavasana (Corpse/final resting pose) and ending with the sound of the crystal bowl will seal off the practice.
Healing Teas will be served
Pre-registration is required.

CLASS DESCRIPTIONS:
Paddle Flow Yoga Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP)+ Yoga offers the student the ability to challenge themselves while learning how to paddleboard and then practicing Yoga on a paddleboard. The student will learn proper paddle techniques both on shore and in the water to ensure safety. We will then practice on the board what was taught before anchoring to experience a nature-infused yoga session on the open water. At the end of the Practice, free time will be offered for students to practice more of what they enjoyed before paddling back to shore.
Paddle Flow 101 will offer the student the ability to learn proper Stand Up Paddleboard techniques. The goal is for the student to learn how to safely paddle so they can feel confident enough to paddle on their own on any body of water. The A stroke, C stroke, how to turn and stop, how to get back on your board if you fall off and how to use your paddle correctly will all be introduced and practiced both on land and in the water. Each student will learn about their equipment and how to lift and transport with safety in mind, too. We will then take those lessons learned and apply them while having fun during a 'touring' on the waterfront.
WHAT TO BRING? You will get wet. Wear swim shoes. Dry bag if you are bringing anything of importance onto the board with you. Clothing that is dry wicking. Hips must be covered. A water bottle in a sealed container if you want to bungee to your board. Keep everything else in the car. A towel to dry off after class. Most all of my locations have a restroom to change out of your wet clothes after. Check with instructor. Optional: hat, sunscreen, bug spray
